Overview
Abortion on request is not authorized. It is permitted for economic or social reasons and in in cases of rape, incest, fetal impairment or if the pregnancy endangers the woman or person's life or their integral, mental or physical health. The legal text says: "Safe abortion may be requested by women who need special medical treatment for heart disease, cancer, or other illnesses that may worsen the prognosis of the woman's disease, or other illnesses that can put the survival of the fetus at risk."
Gestational limit is determined by viability, defined as 28 weeks of amenorrhea.
Minors are required to obtain parental or adult consent for an abortion.

Medical practitioners and providers have the right to refuse abortion services based on personal beliefs. However, they are obligated to refer individuals to another provider if they refuse service. There are pills that contain a combination of Misoprostol and the painkiller Diclofenac. While manufactured for a different purpose they can still be used for abortion. Specific instructions need to be followed to avoid overdosing the Diclofenac.
