Women on Waves develops innovative activities and campaigns to break the taboo surrounding abortion and create awareness about the availability of abortion pills and create access to safe abortions. We circumvent and challenge restrictive abortion laws with abortion ships, abortion drones, robots, hotlines, apps and the internet. Additionally, we develop art projects, engage in legal actions, give sexual education and medical knowledge workshops.

Operated from Amsterdam, the abortion robot successfully delivered abortion pills in Northern Ireland. With the robot the abortion pills can be supplied to women in Northern Ireland without breaking the law because the robot is operated from the Netherlands.
