To feminist groups around the world Hello. We are Femidangdang, a young feminist group in South Korea. We co-hosted a demonstration called ‘Black Protest' in Seoul, South Korea on October 15th.

We are Femidangdang, a young feminist group in South Korea.
We co-hosted a demonstration called ‘Black Protest' in Seoul, South Korea on October 15th, and we plan to continue it on October 29th. It will be of the same concept, working for the legalisation of abortion in our country.
Recently the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Korea suggested a new bill. It included the decision to suspend a doctor's license for 10 months if they were caught doing the illegal but currently generally looked-over procedure of abortion. Obstetricians and gynecologists objected against this bill and decided not to carry out the procedure until the bill was officially rejected. 'Black Protest' in is a movement against the Health Ministry disregarding the right a woman has of her own body and life. We walk together and speak up together in black, as in unity we find strength. Strength to change what social standards, tradition and custom have always told us: ‘women do not matter’.
We know there are plenty of other countries fighting for the legalisation of abortion, as we are in Seoul. We hope to join hands not only within our culture but outwards to truly accomplish sexual equality.
Femidangdang and Razem (the Polish party that organized the first ‘Black Protest' in Poland) have been communicating via Facebook for last few days, and we've planned worldwide project using SNS platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and so on) that will bring us together.
We'll start to share the photos taken wearing black with the text and hashtags below at the same time (13:00 GMT, 22 Oct 2016) and spread it to the world. Let’s fight together for women’s rights - including a freedom to choose what happens to her body, life and future.
