Iran’s Plan to Boost Declining Birth Rate Block Access to Birth Control

 

02 2015: Population growth in the country has been declining since the late 1980s, despite the efforts to end family-planning programs. The new bills would limit women’s access to contraception and encourage companies to prioritize hiring men with children over other groups,This results in gender discrimination in the workplace and more women seeking out dangerous, unsafe and illegal abortions.
