Abortion Law

In 1990 the Guam legislature passed a very restrictive law that banned all abortions on Guam . There was not even an exception for rape, incest or a fetal deformity. The clinic doctors were quick to file suit, on behalf of our women patients. (Guam OB-GYN Society and Guam Nursing Association vs. ADA, 1990). Our action culminated in a United States Supreme Court decision (Planned Parenthood vs. Casey, 1991) that guaranteed all women the right to an abortion through the sixth month of pregnancy. [1]
